Culture

Leading by influence is an important cultural driver of Education 3.0 transformation.

Visionary leadership

Education 3.0 leaders understand, embrace, model, and champion the vision their school system has developed to direct its journey toward transformation.

All system leaders, including leadership teams and principals, support this effort.

Leaders model not only the values of the system but also the desired attitudes and behaviors—including innovation and collaboration—and model the technology vision in their own daily work.

Excellent teachers and leaders

Education 3.0 leaders recruit, train, and support excellent staff at all levels. They use a variety of creative strategies, including links to pre-service institutions, to recruit teachers who are highly skilled in their home discipline and technology integration, as well as able to operate across the curriculum.

Leaders provide a comprehensive induction program for new teachers and reward the best teachers with leadership opportunities.

Teachers learn from each other in professional learning communities, with ongoing job-embedded mentoring and professional development.

An ambitious culture of collaboration and innovation

Schools and systems use multiple channels to communicate with all stakeholders on a regular basis.
Leaders promote a culture of collaboration, respect, openness, and fairness, with support for managed risk-taking that has the potential to improve learning.

All stakeholders set and achieve high expectations for themselves and for each other, with the concept of students as valued members of the school community at the center of all endeavors.
