I think there is a very interesting opportunity to use technology as a lever to improve student learning, but I question the financial ability of trying to stay current with technology.  The argument is made comparing trains and cars, and while it seems appropriate, the better way of seeing it is more globally.  As we advanced, many of the improvements have had a devastating impact on the environment and the social fabric.  I do not support the idea of a traditional school, but I do support the role of the teacher.  At times, the one on one contact makes a difference.  With struggling students, the support of a caring individual makes all the difference.  The intersection of education and technology is about appropriate use of technology, not technology for technology's sake.
