University of Arizona Scientists Using Facebook to Build 6-12 Learning Tool
Tue, 2010-07-20
As part of a larger effort to build an International Internet Classroom, a faculty team at the University of Arizona (U.S.) is building a Facebook program designed to help middle and high school students learn how to teach themselves. The Teach Ourselves project will give Facebook users points for doing homework, showing others how to work through math equations, translating word problems into other languages, critiquing student papers, writing educational Web applications, and producing electronic flashcards or educational videos. Subject areas will include biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science.
